The following motorists are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:
Edgardo Molina-Rivera, 30, of Vegaalta, Puerto Rico, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 11:29 p.m. Saturday on Route 37 in the town of Theresa with DWI and failure to keep right. His blood alcohol content was 0.12 percent, deputies said. A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. He is summoned to appear Feb. 8 in Theresa Town Court.   MORE

LAS CRUCES – A concealed-firearms instructor has been charged with driving drunk with two loaded firearms in his vehicle.  Michael Gonzales Jr., 43, is the owner of Security Concepts, which provides security for the public schools, the city and, until recently, New Mexico State University.  A deputy pulled over Gonzales’ 2008 Jeep at 11:05 p.m. Jan. 21 near Mesilla on West University Avenue when he noticed the driver had his brights on and hadn’t turned them off when flashed by another motorist, according to a Do a Ana Sheriff’s Office report. The deputy reported a “fairly pronounced” odor of alcohol, even over Gonzales’ gum, but Gonzales initially denied drinking, the report said.   MORE

Ryan, 45, is said to have been riding his motorcycle while intoxicated on the Wantagh State Parkway when he hit Scarpati, according to prosecutors. At the time of the accident, Scarpati was changing his bicycle tire on the side of the parkway just north of the Goose Neck Bridge, according to authorities.   MORE
