Larry Mark Williams, 36, received a two-year maximum sentence in Cleveland County Superior Court. Rebecca Brown, 49, of Fort Smith was arrested at Jenny Lind Road and Fordham Avenue at around 11:40 p.m. Thursday after officer Bryan Stanley of the Fort Smith Police Department observed her vehicle move left of the center line three times, according to a police report… MORE

A Midlakes High School social studies teacher was fired and another teacher hired by the school board during an emergency meeting on Friday.
Joshua Stewart, 35, a social studies teacher with the district, was terminated as of Jan. 28. In his place, a teacher previously laid off,  Christopher Galusha, was hired for the post.  MORE

The president of Hudson Catholic met with students yesterday and choked up as he asked for their forgiveness, four days after he was charged with drunken driving in Jersey City.
The Rev. Warren Hall was involved in a collision Thursday night and kept driving, but he was followed by the driver of the car he struck, sources said. The police were then called and Hall was charged.
“I’m very surprised. He seems like a nice and trustful guy,” said Mary Rosario, whose son is a junior at the school. “It’s sad. My son adores him.”  MORE

When Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo fired an officer after he was convicted on a DWI charge, an arbitrator reinstated him, saying other officers had been convicted of drunken driving but didn’t lose their jobs.
