Georgia: County Commissioner gets award from MADD then gets DUI after fighting cops during arrest for drunk driving

(WSB Radio) — A member of the Clayton County Commission has been arrested and charged with DUI according to Atlanta Police.  Wole Ralph was arrested in the overnight hours Saturday morning after police say they observed him “driving recklessly” in a red Mustang leaving a parking lot in the 1900 block of Metropolitan Parkway…..MORE

Commissioner Wole Ralph, now 33, according to the Clayton County website, serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners. At age 26, he was elected to his first term on the Clayton County Commission, and was the youngest County Commissioner in Georgia.
The county profile listed on the website says: “ His leadership has been nationally recognized in the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, NY Times, LA Times, as has been featured on Channel 2 Action News, Fox 5 News, 11 Alive News and CNN.”
Now he will be awarded new notoriety for his DUI arrest and will MADD want to take back their award?

 DWI killer Jason Lark remains in jail held  without bond
Douglas County authorities said they are investigating a crash that killed one teenager and injured several others. The teenage driver has been charged with DUI in the crash. 
Channel 2 Action News reporter George Howell spoke with police, who said three of the teens involved in the crash are students at Alexander High School in Douglas County. The 17-year-old girl who was killed attended Villa Rica High School. A fourth teenage passenger fled the scene on foot, police said. …MORE
Since Jan. 1, 2011, Douglas County Sheriff’s Highway Enforcement Aggressive Traffic Unit has taken 20 DUI drivers off the road, including one who is an habitual offender with 4 DUI convictions on his record…it takes more than cops, it takes boneheaded drivers to make better decisions than to drive after drinking…The Georgia Daily News reports the teen who died was Cheyenne Sauls.

Report: Boozing banker was mentoring a middle school student….and he actually passed a background check…which didn’t check his driving record and his mentoring included driving the student….prosecutor says it ain’t like they were letting Dahir get away with anything!  What is that guy smoking?

Prosecutors have been tough on felony DUI cases, Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said Friday, but those prosecutions are about to get tougher.  Kleine said he is reviewing what he called his office’s “occasional” practice of reducing DUIs from felonies to misdemeanors in return for a defendant successfully completing inpatient treatment.  Kleine said he fears that Mark Dahir, a man now facing his seventh DUI arrest but who never has been convicted of a felony, and others might be manipulating matters by entering treatment to avoid getting a felony conviction and the prison time and license revocation that go with it…..MORE
