Georgia: Judge denies bond 2nd time for DUI killer Jason Lark

Jason Lark, charged in the vehicular homicide of Cheyenne Sauls, appeared Wednesday in Superior Court before Judge Robert James for a second bond hearing.
His initial bond was denied Feb. 21 in Magistrate Court, two days after the crash he is accused of causing.
When James denied bond at the end of Wednesday’s hearing, sobs could be heard throughout the courtroom.
The mood was somber from the very beginning.

Florida: man gets 15 years for killing his two passengers while driving drunk

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A Florida Panhandle man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a DUI crash that left two passengers dead.
A Leon County judge sentenced Gregory Junkin on Tuesday. He was convicted in January of two counts of DUI manslaughter. Junkin will also serve five years of probation and permanently lose his driving privileges.  ….MORE

California: Woman faces 16 years in prison for killing three while drunk driving

VISTA, Calif. —
Arraignment was postponed Wednesday to April 21 for a mother of four accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed her fiance and two young women standing outside a parked car.
Debbie Pacheco Sumi, 34, faces 16 years in prison if convicted of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI. A trial date could be set next month. ….MORE
