A McAllen woman has pleaded guilty in a DWI wreck where her car pinned a San Benito teenager underneath a police unit.
Lori Jean Melhart appeared before Judge Janet Leal in the 103rd State District Court on Monday morning.

Authorities have identified the suspect in a fatal DWI wreck on South Padre Island that left a 3-year-old girl dead.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state troopers have charged 22-year-old Ismael Martinez with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
State troopers allege that Martinez was drunk and behind the wheel of an SUV involved in a rollover accident on South Padre Island on Saturday afternoon.
Martinez allegedly hit a sand dune and rolled over.
State troopers reported that 3-year-old Natalia Raquel Alvarado while several people among the other nine passengers in the SUV were injured.
Martinez appeared before Cameron County Magistrate Judge Luis Saenz on Monday morning where he was issued $85,000 in bonds.
Court documents released on Monday afternoon show that Martinez had drank a 12-pack of Natural Light earlier in the day and then one

New Mexico: Court of Appeals Judge Robles pleaded guilty to DWI; its a guess if he stays on bench

N.M. Court of Appeals Judge Robert E. Robles pleaded guilty today to drunken driving, and it’s now up to the Supreme Court to decide whether he gets to keep his job.
Robles, who had been charged with aggravated DWI, pleaded guilty to one count of first-time DWI. He was sentenced to one year of probation, community service, and use of an ignition interlock device for a year, The Associated Press is reporting.
He must also undergo alcohol screening and complete DWI school.   ….MORE

Illinois: 6th time at bat for hell-on-wheels babe earns $100,000 bond

Bond was set at $100,000 today for an Elgin woman who authorities said was arrested for DUI for a sixth time.
Sandra L. Uher, 54, of the 1200 block of Maroon Drive, was charged after officials said she ran a stop sign at Shales Parkway and Summit Street in Elgin and struck another car at about 11:30 a.m. Monday.
The 6th DUI charge is an automatic Class X felony under Illinois law, prompting Judge Bridget Hughes to set the high bond in Cook County’s Rolling Meadows branch court. Conviction on a Class X charge means a minimum six years in prison.  …..MORE
