Miami Beach police shot at an off-duty North Charleston fire captain on Memorial Day after he nearly struck an officer and crashed into a parked cruiser at a chaotic shooting scene, authorities said.
The police gunfire missed 45-year-old Carlos LaKeith King, but officers took him into custody for driving under the influence, according to a police report. He has since been released and reportedly is on his way back to South Carolina. ….MORE

The driver of a car that rolled over several times in Stoddard, killing one passenger, has been charged with drunken driving.
This comes as police release the identity of the passenger killed.
State police said 24-year-old Eric Mays of Hancock has been charged with driving with a suspended license and aggravated driving while intoxicated in connection with the crash on Route 123 south just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday. ….MORE
