Michael Albers was driving more than twice the posted speed limit with a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.
Two passengers in Albers’ GMC Envoy also sustained permanent injuries from the Aug. 12, 2010 crash on Grass Lake Road in unincorporated Antioch Township.

LAS CRUCES – A man dubbed the “poster child for DUI” by a District Court judge after his 11th conviction for driving under the influence has been indicted on a 12th drunken driving charge.
Anthony Michael Sierra isn’t even legally allowed to have car keys – for any reason – after his last conviction, in 2008, for which Las Cruces District Judge Michael Murphy gave him the maximum three-year sentence, with five years’ probation. Sentencing in that case had to be postponed after Sierra arrived at court still intoxicated from drinking at his grandfather’s 100th birthday party the night before.
Sierra, 37, of Santa Clara, N.M., allegedly crashed into another car while driving drunk on March 15, according to court documents. A Do a Ana County grand jury formally charged him Thursday with aggravated drunken driving, careless driving, driving with a suspended license and no insurance…..MORE

EAST FISHKILL — A Pelham physician was drunk when he rear-ended another car on the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill then fled the scene, state police said today.
Dr. Warren W. Geisler, 61, of Pelham was arrested after the accident, which occurred on a southbound entrance ramp to the parkway about 9:20 p.m. Sunday.

OTTAWA – A 25-year-old woman convicted of a fatal drunk driving crash is facing other drunk driving charges in Alberta.
Dominika Duris, 25, got a two-year conditional sentence Wednesday, sparing her time in jail.
At least for now.
She is now free to face charges of impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08 after a June 7, 2009, arrest in Calgary. She has pleaded not guilty…..MORE

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man accused of second-degree murder in a drunken driving crash just a few weeks after he was convicted on another DUI was sentenced to 15 years Wednesday on a charge of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Mark Patton, 50, was accused of driving drunk on Nov. 26, 2008, just days after a previous conviction of driving under the influence and crashing into 45-year-old Martin Martinez, killing him.
