Florida: man who got drunk, fled from cops and killed two people when he crashed into their car sentenced to 21 years in prison

LARGO — Daniel Dalton Dolcater is a kind and caring young man with a future, his friends and family members said Friday.
But here’s the problem, a judge said: So are others who drive drunk and kill people.
“Almost everybody with a DUI-manslaughter … is basically a good kid or a good father or a good student or a good something,” Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Nancy Moate Ley said. “And then they got drunk or got high, or both, and got behind the wheel of a car.”
Dolcater, who turns 21 on Monday and has never had a driver’s license, drunkenly sped away from police on Sept. 30 and smashed into a car in St. Pete Beach, killing two people.
After Dolcater pleaded guilty on Friday to two counts of DUI-manslaughter and other charges, Ley sentenced him to 21 years in prison.  ….MORE

A Gwinnett County sheriff’s deputy was arrested after getting into an accident in a county vehicle Thursday in Walton County and was charged with driving under the influence.
A Georgia State Patrol officer arrested Douglas Mattox after a three-vehicle crash at 12:15 p.m. on Georgia Highway 10 in Loganville. Mattox, 50, of Watkinsville was booked Thursday on charges of DUI and following too closely. He was released on $2,182 bond the same day. ….MORE

Pennsylvania: Christopher Love killed his passenger when he hit a tree; charged with felony DUI

LANCASTER –The driver in a fatal crash Friday afternoon in Lancaster County faces felony drunk driving charges after a passenger died in the collision, authorities say.
