Maryland: Kevin Coffay killed his pals…3 of them…now he wants his sentence in prison reduced – ride with a drunk, buy a ticket to your own funeral

He killed his friends and ran from the scene, lied to police, claimed he hit a small animal…now he wants out of prison so he can tell other boozing kids not to be an idiot like he is…

Kevin Coffay and several friends had left a party. Coffay was drunk, and he slammed a Toyota Corolla into a tree on the side of a Montgomery County road about 3 a.m.
 

Coffay crawled out from behind an airbag and slipped into the woods. Police and tracking dogs found him hours later and miles away, his blood-alcohol level still double the legal limit for driving. Three of his friends were dead or dying. ….MORE

New Mexico: Dad gives talks to school kids about drunk driving while is son is in prison for killing two people while DWI

HAGERMAN, N.M. (KRQE) – It was a hard lesson for a former Kirtland Airman. He drove drunk four years ago, and two people paid for it with their lives.
Now, he’s hoping others will learn from his story.
On New Year’s Day 2008, Micah Henry got behind the wheel drunk. He slammed into a pickup truck in the north valley, killing two people inside.
Josephine Laweka, 47 and Marvin Garcia, 44, were killed in the crash. Wednesday, students in Hagerman, south of Roswell, witnessed a similar scene, the simulated aftermath of a drunk-driving crash…..MORE

Missouri: Matthew Brannon changes his tune just before trial; now he pleads guilty to killing nurse while he was driving drunk

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man from Springfield pleaded guilty on Thursday to first-degree involuntary manslaughter for the death of a woman in a two-vehicle crash 18 months ago. The plea occurred just before the scheduled beginning of the trial for Matthew Brannon, 32.
Brannon was driving a vehicle that crashed on Oct. 16, 2010, at the intersection of Mount Vernon Street at Kansas Expressway. The crash killed Kathryn Wells, 55, of Springfield. She was a hospice nurse and a former Nurse of the Year.
Brannon’s car collided with Wells’ vehicle. Wells’ car hit a light pole and burst into flames. …MORE
