Florida: Deputy James Ottinger is a fan of Wild Turkey; busted for DUI after leaving crash

COCONUT CREEK — A Broward sheriff’s deputy has been arrested on suspicion of leaving a crash site while driving drunk, according to an arrest report.
After being pulled over, James Ottinger, 31, allegedly told a Coconut Creek police officer he drank four whiskeys, the arrest report said. A bottle of Wild Turkey bourbon whiskey later was found inside the pickup Ottinger was driving, the report said ….MORE

Illinois: Quintin Wissmiller’s jaunt on a ATV ends with dead pony; DUI driver’s crash left Shetland with broken back

A Yorkville man was charged with driving an all-terrain vehicle under the influence after he struck a Shetland pony that had gotten loose in Kendall County, officials said.
The accident happened early Sunday at 3 a.m. as Quintin Wissmiller, 33, was driving a Polaris Ranger ATV on the 11500 block of Brisbin Road in Yorkville, said Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputy Craig French.
Wissmiller was driving the vehicle on the road when he struck the pony which had gotten loose from a nearby home, said French. Officials had to euthanize the animal because the animal’s back was broken from the impact, French said ….MORE

Illinois: bus load of party-goers doing it right by taking the bus sent to hospital by Andy Darrell Taylor, charged with DUI

A 28-year-old man was charged with DUI after an SUV crashed into a party bus on the Eisenhower Expressway, hospitalizing at least 19 people early Tuesday.
The SUV driver, Andy Darrell Taylor, of Chicago was charged with DUI, according to an Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper.
The accident happened about 2:38 a.m. on inbound Interstate 290 near Ashland Avenue and involved an SUV and a “party bus” carrying people from area bars, State Police District Chicago Trooper Ivan Bukaczyk said.  ….MORE

California: Lodi Police find four impaired drivers in enforcement effort

Lodi police officers arrested four DUI drivers, cited 26 more and had 10 vehicles towed during Friday night’s DUI/driver’s license checkpoint and saturation patrols in the 0 block of South Cherokee Lane, according to Lt. Chris Jacobson.
The four DUI arrests were away from the checkpoint location during saturation patrols. One was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, two were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and one subject was arrested for possession and transportation of a controlled substance. ….MORE

New York: police spend weekend following drunk drivers around and sent four to slammer; Andrew Stulsky leads the list

Andrew Stulsky, 39, of New Suffolk, was charged with driving while intoxicated by drugs on June 17 at 3:18 a.m. after police stopped him for a traffic violation on Westphalia Road in Mattituck, police said. Stulsky was arrested, transported to Southold Town Police headquarters in Peconic where he was processed and held for arraignment.

• Mariusz Pawelski, 29, of Mattituck, was charged with DWI on June 16 at 9:01 p.m. after he was involved in a car accident at the intersection of Route 48 and Sound Avenue in Mattituck, police said. Pawelski failed to stop with traffic for the stoplight and crashed into another vehicle, police said. Pawleski was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. He suffered minor injures from the accident and was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital by members of the Mattituck Fire Department Rescue Squad. Pawleski was treated and released from the hospital and was transported to police headquarters for processing.
