Florida: Robert Wayne Whittle may have a wooden leg; busted for being FOUR times over the legal limit after he left Hell-Bar – Mookey’s Bar

Police say they arrested Robert Wayne Whittle, 28, 2116 Massachusetts Ave., Grove City, and discovered he was allegedly four times over the legal alcohol limit for DUI.
Two road deputies reported they were approaching San Casa Drive and 10th Street at 2:08 a.m. Friday when were nearly hit by Whittle’s Toyota pickup making a wide turn. The pickup continued down 10th Street and reportedly almost hit the second cruiser.

Police Report: Whittle stumbled out of his pickup and apologized for nearly hitting the patrol cars. He said he was coming from Mookey’s Bar where he had three shots and three beers, and was on his way home. He failed the various tests, was arrested for DUI, and then transported to the Charlotte County Jail where he blew .324 and .331 on breathalyzer equipment. Due to his being four times over the .080 limit, he was then transported to Charlotte Regional Medical Center, treated for acute alcohol intoxication, medically cleared, and returned to the County Jail around 7 a.m. Whittle posted a $1,500 bond and has been released.

(Aug. 16, 2012) — In Botetourt County Circuit Court today, David William Simmons, 56, of Roanoke, pleaded no contest to a charge of involuntary manslaughter tied to an accident last year that killed a Roanoke woman who was a passenger on his motorcycle.
The accident occurred Aug. 27, sometime after midnight near milepost 105 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Botetourt County. Pamela D. Mullins, 41, of Roanoke was declared dead at the scene. Simmons was seriously injured.
She and Simmons had been at a bar on Orange Avenue and the two had gone for a ride on Simmons’ motorcycle when the accident occurred, according to Commonwealth’s Attorney Joel Branscom. One blood sample taken that morning showed Simmons had a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent. Under Virginia law, it is illegal to operate a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or above.
Judge Clifford Weckstein accepted the plea and found Simmons guilty of the charge.
He ordered a presentence investigation. Sentencing was set for Nov. 8.

Florida: Ellen Reisman charged with DUI for killing pedestrian with her car

A woman has been charged with drunken driving after she hit two women with her car, killing one of them, a Daytona Beach police spokesman said Thursday.
Ellen Reisman, 60, is charged with DUI that resulted in the death of a New Smyrna Beach woman in a wreck Nov. 30, 2011, according to a charging affidavit. Kathleen Lawhorne, 64, died at Halifax Health Medical Center from the injuries she suffered in the Daytona Beach crash.

Maryland: Joseph Pugh charged with DWI and assaulting his 85-year-old dad

Bozman – According to the Talbot County Sheriff’s Department, on August 13, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 7000 block of Bozman Neavitt Road for an assault. Information was relayed that the suspect, Joseph Pugh, 50 of Bozman, MD left the area in a gold colored Nissan.
Deputies say that they observed the vehicle on St Michaels Road and conducted a traffic stop. Joseph Pugh was found to be intoxicated and was arrested.
Investigation determined Joseph Pugh allegedly struck his father, Stephen Pugh, 85, with a closed fist causing extensive facial injuries. Stephen Pugh was transported to Easton Memorial Hospital for his injuries.
Joseph Pugh was charged with assault, driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license, failing to control speed to avoid an accident and failing to remain at the scene of a property damage accident. Joseph Pugh was seen by a District Court Commissioner and ordered held on a $15,000.00 bond.
