GRUNDY COUNTY — A Morris man has been charged with driving under the influence following a crash that killed an Ottawa woman early Sunday.
Chief Deputy Kevin Callahan said sheriff’s police were called at 1:20 a.m. after a 1997 Ford Mustang driven by Chad Marks, 33, was broadsided by a semi-tractor trailer on Route 6, a quarter-mile north of Longpoint Road.
According to reports, the Mustang was passing another vehicle when it lost control, went off the road, struck two trees and bounced back into the path of the truck.

A Hartselle man charged with murder following a fatal wreck Sunday on Browns Ferry Road is accused of driving under the influence, an official confirmed Monday.
Timothy Alan Hall, 28, of 1833 Woodmont St., was charged with murder after his 2011 Volkswagen Jetta struck the motorcycle driven by Mark Henry Holt, 48, of Toney, at 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Limestone County Coroner Mike West pronounced Holt dead at the scene.
Hall was released from the Limestone County Jail at noon Monday after posting a $25,000 bail.
