Police said John Edel, the operator of the motorcycle, had a blood alcohol level 2.5 times the legal limit at the time of the accident.
The Upper Southampton Township Police Department has concluded its investigation into traffic accident which occurred on June 30, 2012 at the intersection of Street Road and Knowles Avenue which claimed the lives of motorcycle operator John Edel and his passenger Ellen Kelly.

California: Judi Lynn Hawks charged with DUI fatal after hitting pedestrian and fleeing scene…then she came back…

Eureka, Aug. 25, 2012 — Officials said Friday that a pedestrian died from injuries he suffered after being hit by a vehicle Thursday night in Eureka.
At 5:51 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to an automobile and pedestrian collision on the 1000 block of Fourth Street in Eureka, according to a press release. Officers found the man lying in the No. 1 lane with what appeared to be minor to moderate injuries. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.
The driver left the scene prior to officers arriving, then returned and identified herself. The release said officers subsequently arrested Eureka resident Judi Lynn Hawks on suspicion of DUI with  ….MORE

Illinois: Amber M. Kline booked on DUI homicide charge for killing passenger in party ride

A Springfield woman who allegedly drove drunk and crashed her car on Sunday, killing a passenger, was arrested Friday.
Sangamon County deputies picked up Amber M. Kline, 22 of the 3300 block of East Enos Street, at Memorial Medical Center, where she was taken after Sunday morning’s crash.
Her bond was set at $1 million.
Kline was going west on West Washington Street at a high rate of speed about 3:15 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle, according to the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office. The car went off the side of the road and flipped.
Amanda Smith, a back seat passenger, died at Memorial.
Kline, as well as two other passengers, Cassandra J. Smith, 23, of the 1200 block of North Eighth Street and Kaitlyn R. Dodd, 19, of the 2000 block of East Dayton Street ….MORE
