California: Erica Shanice Duran charged with reckless driving and vehicular manslaughter in death; DUI charges not on table

A woman involved in a fatal crash earlier this year that killed a Salinas man and injured others is facing criminal charges, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office said.
Erica Shanice Duran of Fairfield pleaded not guilty Tuesday to one felony count of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and three felony counts of reckless driving causing an injury, the District Attorney’s Office said.
Duran was taken into custody following her arraignment. She is expected back in court Oct. 17. …MORE
