Virginia: Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins reports DUI arrest of Michael L. Jackson; Deputy exposed to PCP

Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins reports that at approximately 7:45 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, Deputy Robert Vail was patrolling Rixeyville Road in the area of Emerald Hill Elementary School, when an oncoming vehicle failed to dim its headlights. Vail conducted a traffic stop on the black BMW and found the driver, Michael L. Jackson, 39, of Culpeper, to be under the influence of drugs.

On 10/12/14 at 3:17 PM, Brentwood Troopers stopped a 2014 Jeep Wrangler on the southbound Robert Moses Causeway Main Span Bridge for failing to maintain lane and for speeding(85 mph). While interviewing the operator, Patrick Osbern, age 49, of Kings Park NY, troopers noticed obvious signs of intoxication. Mr. Osbern failed sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI. Traveling with Osbern in the front passenger seat, was his 13 year old son. Osbern was taken into custody and his son was turned over to his mother.

Sheriff’s deputies were sent to a traffic collision around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Canal Road and Castaneda Road.

They found a 2003 GMC truck, reportedly driven by 16-year-old Vanessa Rodriguez, and a 2002 Hyundai Sonata driven by 32-year-old Elida Garcia.

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger in her vehicle, 50-year-old Maria Granados, was transported to an El Paso hospital for treatment of her injuries.

North Carolina: Maryland police officer Corporal Arvester Horner busted for DWI at Raleigh airport

A Prince George’s County Police officer has had his police powers suspended after the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority Police Department charged him with DUI on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Corporal Arvester Horner was off duty at the time of his arrest.
