New York: State Police report DWI arrests for Nov. 28, 2014; Adam Hosmer’s DWI joyride ended in middle of Cohocton River

On November 23, 2014, Bath State Police arrested Adam Hosmer, 26, of Avoca, for Felony Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .14% and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd. Hughes was traveling on State Route 415 in the Town of Avoca when he drifted off the shoulder striking a support pole and guide wire. His vehicle continued north through a field and into the Cohocton River and came to rest in the middle of the River.

Initial reports indicate that one vehicle was traveling north on 56 Highway when it was struck by the other vehicle traveling west on 159th Street. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle traveling north, a 31 year old male, was transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased.

District Attorney Daryl Bailey was at the scene of the crash and called it a DUI Homicide investigation.

It’s good for people to have fun with family and friends, but remember, if you have anything to drink, you shouldn’t drive. Driving drunk is a crime.
