Florida: Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott reports DUI arrests for June 15th – 21st 2015

The driver of the silver Nissan Frontier, Jaime Xahuentit Palacios, a 39 year old resident of Santa Ana, was ultimately arrested on suspicion of felony DUI resulting in death as well as driving while unlicensed. The Nissan Frontier is believed to be related to the original drunk driver call.

Martinez was arrested for DUI Third Offense, Vehicular Homicide, Suspended Driver’s License, Contributing Alcohol to a Minor, Open Container of Alcohol and Seat Belt Violation

As a result of the initial investigation, Jesse Bennett was arrested and charged with Murder, Assault 2nd Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under in Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 1st Degree (Aggravated), and Open Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle. He is lodged in the Three Forks Regional Jail.

Two vehicle passengers were declared deceased at the scene. Two additional vehicle occupants, to include the driver, were transported to a local hospital, both with serious injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the occupants of the vehicle had attended an underage drinking party in area.
