Tennessee: Hamilton Sheriff notes DUI arrests for Aug. 1, 2015 by Chattanooga PD and Tennessee Highway Patrol

Peter Recchia had been observed speeding on Whippany Rd. 70 MPH in a 40 MPH zone. Recchia was eventually stopped on Appleton Way and after a short conversation he was arrested for DWI

Subsequently, a D.R.E unit(Drug Recognition Expert) was contacted and Mr. Hayward submitted to preliminary drug testing. Hayward was transported to the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and charged. Hayward was charged with Possession of CDS: Not Marijuana and eight traffic citations. Hayward was then taken to the District Court Commissioner where he was released on his personal recognizance pending a trial date. The patrol vehicle suffered front end damage and will need repairs.

Sandoval, the driver of the BMW, was treated at Hoag Hospital for chest pain. He was arrested for felony DUI and booked at the Costa Mesa Police Department Jail, where his bail amount is $100,000. Sandoval will be later transported to Orange County Jail in Santa Ana.

Impairment on the part of Drake is suspected to be a factor in the crash. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
