According to Sgt. Adam Elders of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 3:15 A.M. the La Quinta Police Department responded to the area of Palm Royale Dr. and Washington St. reference a traffic collision. The initial investigation revealed a 2015 Honda Accord was traveling on Palm Royale east of Washington and collided with the curb, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The driver of the Honda, identified as Olaf Christian Weiss, 24 years old of Palm Springs, was evaluated and placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Weiss was taken to a local hospital for precaution prior to being booked into the county jail for driving under the influence.
