TRUCKEE — A pedestrian struck by an alleged drunken bicyclist at Donner Lake on July 4 has died of his injuries.
The Truckee Police Department identified the victim as Leonard Richard Whitlow, 46, of Sparks, Nev.
Whitlow was initially taken to Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee and then flown to Renown Hospital in Reno with major head trauma, police said.
The accident happened on Donner Pass Road along Donner Lake five minutes before the community’s annual fireworks began at West End Beach.
