On Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 11:52 A.M., the Coachella Police Department responded to a traffic collision on Expressway 86 and Avenue 52 in the City of Coachella.  A 1998 Chevy Silverado was traveling Southbound on Expressway 86 when the driver collided with the side of a semi-truck.  The driver was determined to be Miguel Bautista, 82 of Thermal.  Bautista was suspected to be driving under the influence.  Charges will be filed against Bautista for driving under the influence.

On Friday, October 21, 2016, at 11:19 P.M., officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision on Gerald Ford Drive, east of Cook Street, in Palm Desert.  The Police say that their investigation revealed a black, Kia sedan was traveling east on Gerald Ford Drive, east of Cook Street, when the vehicle lost control and collided into a tree.  No injuries were sustained as a result of this traffic collision.  The driver of the Kia sedan was identified as Vanessa Evans, 30 of Palm Springs.  Evans was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.  Evans was taken to a local area hospital as a precaution before he was booked at the county jail in Indio.
