Police say that on Thursday, December 1, 2016, officers from the Rancho Mirage Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision at the Gelson’s Market parking lot, located at 36101 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage. The investigation revealed Tanya Lafave, 50, from Cathedral City, was driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of prescription medication while parking her car in the Gelson’s Market parking lot. Lafave’s vehicle collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle in the parking lot. LaFave was arrested for suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of prescription and was booked into the county jail in Indio after being medically cleared from a local hospital.
