Peel Regional Police Ontario Canada Peel Police – Witnesses Sought in Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

Brampton, Ontario  — 00:38:00 — 06/02/2014 – Peel Regional Police report: Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are appealing for witnesses to a serious motor vehicle collision which occurred in Brampton.

On Saturday, May 31, 2014, at approximately 1:36 a.m., a collision occurred in the intersection of Airport Road and Lacoste Boulevard in Brampton. A 2006 Toyota Corolla was struck by a tractor trailer within that intersection.

All four occupants of the Corolla were transported to hospital where 18 year-old Kam Gill succumbed to his injuries and an 18 year-old passenger remains in stable condition in a trauma centre. The driver and the fourth passenger have been released from hospital.

The 17 year-old driver of the Corolla has been charged with Impaired Operation cause death, Impaired Operations Cause Bodily Harm. Excess Alcohol Cause Death and Excess Alcohol Cause Bodily Harm. He will attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Monday June 2, 2014 for a bail hearing.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the movements of the vehicles prior to the collision, or who may have witnessed the collision.
