Massachusetts: Ben Urbelis charged with drunk boating after Nicole Berthiaume lost her arm in prop; search of harbor was naught for severed limb

“At some point while he was attempting to anchor, the evidence suggests, she and other passengers jumped into the water to retrieve a pad that had blown off the front of the boat. The young woman had trouble re-boarding, however, and was grievously injured by the active propeller”

Oregon: James Bogosian DUI when crashed pickup into creek makes him eligible for boating while impaired as well

January 23, 2015 – A Forest Grove Police Officer attempted to stop a reported reckless driver that refused to yield to him. Concerns for public safety resulted in the officer terminating the pursuit. The man ultimately crashed and was arrested for DUII by Sheriff‘s Deputies.

While not the actual rollover of the pickup in this crash, it is a similar one in a recent DUI rollover. They usually have about the same outcome - people are injured and killed. The driver whines about having to remember their lost friends for the rest of their lives - boo hoo - and the family of the dead kid has a graveyard to visit every year to place flowers on the kid's birthday. Ride with an impaired driver, buy a ticket to your own funeral.

New York: Chautauqua County Sheriff notes DWI arrests for Aug. 17, 2014

On 7-19-14 at around 2:20AM, Sheriff’s patrol stopped a vehicle on Foote Avenue in Jamestown after noticing that it was riding on the rim of a blown front tire and had what appeared to be fresh collision damage and mud on the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was also leaking a significant amount of anti-freeze. When Deputies approached the operator, it was observed that the vehicle’s airbags had blown and the operator was injured. The operator was identified as Larry P. Babcock Jr, 31, of Jamestown, NY. An ambulance was called to the scene to evaluate Babcock and medics determined he was going to flown by Starflight helicopter to Hamot hospital in Erie, PA. Deputies located a crash site on Foote Avenue Extension in the Town of Kiantone where Babcock drove off the road and struck an earth embankment. Parts of Babcock’s vehicle were located at that site, verifying the location. Deputies interviewed Babcock at Hamot, and following the investigation, Babcock was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and other traffic infractions
