As the officer was controlling the intersection, a driver of a vehicle, identified as the accused, proceeded through the intersection and clipped the officer. Georgia: Gwinnett Deputy Anthony Pesaresi charged with DUI with his kid in car; another Gwinett Deputy rear-ended by DUI driver

A Gwinnett County sheriff’s deputy was arrested on DUI and child endangerment charges following a crash Thursday afternoon while he was off duty.

According to Gwinnett police, Dep. Anthony C. Pesaresi of Auburn was driving a 2013 Ford Edge down Braselton Highway in Dacula around 5:30 p.m. when a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder turned in front of him off Hog Mountain Church Road. The Ford then hit the Nissan in the rear.

Georgia: Kidistz Temesgen roared down highway on DUI hell-ride; killed one, injured deputy

CONYERS — The Decatur woman accused of causing a fatal car crash when fleeing from deputies Thursday night has been charged with vehicular homicide and DUI.

Kidistz Temesgen, 39, of 3035 Pasadena Drive, has been charged by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, homicide by vehicle in the first degree, serious injury by vehicle, felony fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, duty to stop at an accident, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to drive on the right-hand side of the road and following too closely.

Maryland: State Trooper hit by DUI driver Franklin Hernandez — who failed to move over!

Cpl. Hirsch along with another trooper were conducting a vehicle search on I-495 in the area of the Greenbelt Metro Station. Both Maryland State Police patrol units were stopped with their emergency equipment activated on the right road shoulder. While conducting a search, a 2005 Chevrolet failed to obey the move over law, and struck Cpl. Hirsch while standing on the right shoulder. The vehicle was stopped a short distance later.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced today that the grand jury has returned criminal charges against MICHAEL P. ETTZ of Lodi in connection with a DWI crash that occurred in Lodi on April 19, 2014. Specifically, ETTZ was indicted for 2nd degree Aggravated Assault; 3rd degree Assault by Auto While DWI; and 3rd degree Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury to Another. ETTZ’s total exposure on these charges is a maximum of 15 years.
