Canterbury, DE – Troopers have arrested a Frankford man for DUI after he crashed his vehicle into a fence and horse trailers near Canterbury.

The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday August 26, 2015, as Huseyin Oflu, 65 of Frankford, was operating a 1997 Nissan Altima southbound on South DuPont Highway (US13) just north of Irish Hill Road.  The Nissan crossed over the center median and across the northbound lanes before colliding with a fence and then two horse trailers located on the property of Delwood Trailers Inc.  The car continued through another fence on the property and then struck a Verizon utility box and came to a stop in the Canterbury Shore Stop after striking a road sign.

A concerned witness observed the crash and stopped to render aid when he saw Oflu throwing beer cans from his car into the parking lot.  Troopers arrived shortly thereafter and took Huseyin Oflu into custody and transported him back to Troop 3 where a DUI investigation ensued.  He was cited and later released after being charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Failure to Remain Within a Single Lane, Failure to Have Insurance in Possession, and Littering.
