Indiana: Hernan Jasiel Posada-Rodriguez killed Monica Davila in OWI crash, say Carmel Police

01/12/2017 — Carmel Police reports that on Sunday, January 8th, 2017, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Carmel Police responded to an accident near the intersection of 96th Street and Knights Bridge Blvd. Officers arrived and found two vehicles involved in the crash.

Based on preliminary information, it appears that a maroon 2005 Ford F-150 truck operated by Hernan J. Posada-Rodriguez, 24, of Fishers, Indiana, was traveling eastbound 96th Street near Knights Bridge Blvd. Rodriguez collided with a Red 2004 Saturn 2-door operated by Monica Davila, 44, of  Indianapolis, Ind.

Police say that it appears the Red Saturn turned in front of maroon Ford as it was traveling Eastbound.

The driver of the Red Saturn, Monica Davila, was pronounced deceased at the scene as result of her injuries.

Through further investigation, Rodriguez was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (A-Misdemeanor) and Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death (Level 5 Felony). He was later transported to the Hamilton County Jail for further processing.

Accident Reconstructionists from the Carmel Police Department completed the crash investigation. 96th Street and Knights Bridge Blvd was temporarily closed during the investigation.
