From Baton Rouge Crime:
The Louisiana State Police arrested 43-year-old Brandon Burton of Zachary early Wednesday morning and charged him with 5th Offense DWI among other charges.

According to a report, a vehicle crash occurred at the corner of Greenwell Springs and Ardenwood. Burton, who was involved in the crash, was noted to have displayed poor balance and slurred speech after being contacted by investigators.

He was asked to perform a standard field sobriety test which he reportedly failed. The report also states that Burton gave an invalid breath sample so his blood was submitted for chemical results. He also appeared to show signs of drug use according to the report.

Burton was charged with 5th Offense DWI, Careless Operation, Open Container and Driving with a Suspended License. He was transported to EBR Parish Prison where he is currently being held in lieu of a $2,000 bond.
