Maryland: Eastern Shore law officers gear up for crackdown on drunk drivers

EASTON — Bryan Ross proposed to his girlfriend, Jennifer Edwards, on New Years Eve in 2007. Three days later, a drunk driving accident claimed his life, along with that of Edward’s 4-year-old daughter, Emma Grace.
The head-on collision happened in Rock Hall, and killed the 24-year-old drunk driver instantly. Ross fought for his life for 45 minutes; Emma fought for 8r hours. Edwards spent five days at a trauma center.
Once released, she had to plan and attend two funerals, figure out how to survive and explain to Emma’s then 6-year-old sister, Olivia, who was not in the car, that it was OK to think about Emma.
“It’s an emotional battle that happens every single day for us,” Edwards said Wednesday morning at the kickoff for Maryland’s Toward Zero Deaths campaign. “All three were taken for a senseless act.”  ….MORE
