New Mexico: Same Officer Arrests Same Subject for 6th DWI in San Juan County

 

2013-12-14 —San Juan County- On Monday, December 2, 2013 at approximately 9:07 am; New Mexico State Police Officers in San Juan County were conducting an early morning DWI saturation patrol.

An Officer conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford Ranger pickup truck on County Road 6100 in Fruitland, New Mexico. The vehicle was pulled over for a hazardous equipment violation.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Roger Deale. Mr. Deale had bloodshot watery eyes and a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. Through the course of the investigation, Mr. Deale advised he was unable to perform two of the three standardized Field Sobriety tests because of prior injuries. Mr. Deale was given two additional tests which he was unable to pass.

Mr. Deale also admitted to drinking the previous day. Mr. Deale was arrested for his DWI 6th offense. The officer who stopped Mr. Deale had arrested him on two prior occasions both for DWI. –
