Alicia M. Newman, DWI in New York with kids in her vehicle arrested in Broome County New York.

On 02/18/2017, at approximately 1:15 am, Deputies were patrolling in the area of Conklin Road, Town of Conklin when a vehicle passed in the opposite direction, traveling in the center turning lane. The vehicle traveled for approximately 1 mile in the center turning lane before it pulled over. The driver of the vehicle, Alicia M. Newman, exhibited signs of intoxication and was given roadside sobriety testing. After an investigation, Newman was taken into custody for suspicion of DWI. It was also discovered that there were 4 children inside the vehicle being driven by Newman. These children were released to a relative who responded to the scene. Newman’s B.A.C. was measured to be .21%. Newman was also found to be driving on a revoked license; revoked for a previous DWI conviction.

Aggravated DWI with a BAC greater than .18%- E Felony
Aggravated DWI with a child in the vehicle- E Felony
Driving While Intoxicated- E Felony
Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor vehicle 1st Degree- E Felony
4 Counts of Endangering the welfare of a child- class A Misdemeanors

Newman was taken to the Binghamton Police Department to await arraignment in the City of Binghamton Court on the listed charges.
