New York: State Police charged Harold Lampkin for DWI and Refusal to take a Breath Test

Troopers in Mayfield arrested Harold Lampkin for DWI and Refusal to take a Breath Test.

Troopers in Mayfield arrested 26 y.o. Harold Lampkin for DWI and refusal to take a breath test. Troopers received a report of a disabled vehicle in the area of 182 N. Main Street in the Village of Broadalbin. Upon arrival, Troopers located the vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway with the engine running and the operator- Lampkin, was sleeping at the wheel with his foot on the brake. Upon interviewing Lampkin, Troopers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. He was administered SFST’s and failed. He was placed under arrest for DWI and was transported back to New York State Police Mayfield for processing. While at SP Mayfield Lampkin refused to take the breath test and was subsequently arraigned in the Village of Broadalbin Court. He was remanded to Fulton County Jail in lieu of $1,000.00 cash and $2,500.00 bond. He is to reappear back in the Village of Broadalbin Court on 11/3/16 10:00 am.

On October 13, 2016, at approximately 9 p.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on State Route 73 in the town of North Elba, south of River Road on a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle was traveling south on State Route 73 and nearly struck a patrol vehicle which was stopped on the shoulder with lights activated, conducting an unrelated investigation.

The driver, Thomas J. Clark, 73, of Lake Placid, was subsequently arrested for DWI. His blood alcohol content was determined to be .14%. Clark was charged with DWI, and additionally ticketed for failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle, and unsafe speed. Clark was released on tickets to appear in the Town of North Elba Court on October 25, 2016, at 3 p.m.
