New York: State Trooper works overtime with two-for-one DWI special bagging Courtney Bazarian and Mike McDermott

Courtney Bazarian charged with DWI by New York State Police 041815

04/18/2015 — The New York State Police report that Troopers from the Capital barracks made two DWI arrests on the same trip early Saturday morning. Courtney L. Bazarian, 21, of Wilbraham, Ma. was stopped for faulty brake lights on State Route 85 near the Harriman State Office campus in Albany.

After observing the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath, Troopers administered Standardized Field Sobriety tests and took Bazarian into custody for Driving While Intoxicated.

While transporting Bazarian back to SP Capital for processing, the Troopers observed a second vehicle being operated unsafely on Interstate 90 in Albany.

Michael A. McDermott DWI arrest New York State Police 041815

The Troopers stopped Michael A. McDermott, 54, of Albany for an unsafe lane change and observed that he also had the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. Standardized Field Sobriety tests were administered to McDermott and he was subsequently taken into custody for DWI.

Both subjects were transported to SP Capital for processing. After the administration of breath tests, it was determined that Bazarian had a BAC of .12% and McDermott had a BAC of .10%. Each were given Uniform Traffic Tickets returnable to the City of Albany Criminal Court at a later date.

Andrew M. Hepker DWI arrest in New York

On April 17, 2015, State Troopers from New Scotland arrested 30 year old Andrew M. Hepker from Phoenix, Arizona for Aggravated DWI.  Troopers stopped Hepker on Western Avenue, in the Town of Guilderland for speeding.

During interview, Troopers observed beverage alcohol emanating from his breath.  Subsequent to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, he was arrested for DWI and transported to SP Latham were it was determined that he had a .22% BAC.

He was charged with Aggravated DWI and then remanded to Albany County Jail pending arraignment in the Town of Guilderland Court.

Bedford, New York – On April 15, 2015, New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested Damien N. Gunning, 43 years old, of Port Chester, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Troopers stopped the vehicle Gunning was operating on Interstate 684 for speeding. Investigation revealed that Gunning was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Gunning provided a positive breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .12% and was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Town of Bedford Court on April 23, 2015.

Sean Magner DWI arrest in Baldwin NY 051815

Husband and wife both busted for DWI in same wreck

On 4/10/15 a trooper from the Valley Stream Barracks was in his marked patrol vehicle on Grand Avenue in Baldwin when he observed a two-car accident.  The trooper stopped at the accident scene when he observed an involved vehicle fleeing the scene after striking a black GMC pick-up.  The trooper then located the vehicle a short distance away at the Walgreens parking lot on Grand Avenue in Baldwin, just south of the accident scene.  The trooper stopped the vehicle and interviewed the vehicle operator Sean Magner, age 41, of Baldwin NY.  Mr. Magner was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested for DWI.

Witnesses to the accident stated that a female was driving the vehicle when the accident occurred on Grand Avenue.  Troopers soon located the female driver in the Walgreens store.

Colleen Magner DWI arrest in Baldwin NY 041815

The female driver was Mr. Magner’s wife, Colleen Magner, age 38, of the same address.  Mrs. Magner admitted to operating the vehicle at the time of the accident and was identified by witnesses at the scene.  Further investigation revealed the couple also struck a light pole in the Walgreens’ parking lot.

Mrs. Magner provided a positive breath sample of .24% BAC.  Mrs. Magner was charged with Aggravated DWI, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Auto Accident and other traffic violations.  Mr. Magner was charged with Felony DWI(refused to take breath test, 3 prior DWI convictions) and traffic violations.  Mr. Magner was held for arraignment, Mrs. Magner was released and is due in Nassau County First District Court on May 5th.

Oscar Reinoso DWI Westhampton NYSP 041715

On 3/15/2015 at 6:50 PM, A SP Riverside Trooper was on the shoulder of Route 27 near exit 63 in Westhampton, when a black Volkswagen passed him going 97 MPH.  After stopping the Volkswagen, the trooper interviewed the vehicle operator Oscar Reinoso, age 21, of Sag Harbor NY.  Mr. Reinoso exhibited signs of intoxication and failed sobriety tests.  Mr. Reinoso was subsequently arrested for DWI.

The defendant was arrested for DWI and traffic violations.  All charges are returnable to the Town of Southampton Court on 4/6/2015.
