North Carolina: County Commissioner Jon Barber busted 2nd time for DWI: under investigation for theft of bottle of wine

SALISBURY, N.C. – For the second time in three years, Rowan County commissioner Jon Barber has been charged with DWI.
Just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a State Highway Patrol report, Barber crashed into a ditch on Graham Road at N.C. 150. The report says Barber ran off the road, crossed both lanes of traffic and ran off of the road again.
Barber refused a breathalyzer.
Barber’s first DWI charge came in February 2008. He was found passed out behind the wheel with a 0.18 blood alcohol level. He pleaded guilty, completed 20 hours of community service and was placed on unsupervised probation for two years. An alcohol monitor was also attached to his car. ….MORE

SALISBURY — Facing a second charge of driving while impaired, Rowan County Commissioner Jon Barber said Friday he has entered a rehabilitation program, and while he’ll miss some meetings, he plans to stay on the county board.
