South Carolina: Derrick Nunziante fired as Horry County firefighter following DUI arrest

An Horry County firefighter is charged with driving under the influence following a weekend arrest and was no longer employed with Horry County Fire Rescue on Monday, according to Lisa Bourcier, Horry County spokeswoman.

Washington: Matthew James Haygood charged with killing Todd Morose; fled and hid afterwards

Haygood hid in the woods for four hours. When he returned to the scene, he said he had been “wandering around the woods for hours calling for help.” Haygood told officers that he borrowed the truck from a neighbor so he could pick up some wood pallets. He then went to a friend’s house and drank before getting behind the wheel. Toxicology results are pending.

Colorado: Aurora Police report pending charges of two counts of DUI homicide after-bar-crowd mayhem

Aurora Police Lieutenant Michael A. McClelland reports that the late night bar crowd was a real killer on city streets early on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Drivers leaving bars became entangled leaving one dead and an innocent motorist also dead. One man is in a hospital and faces charges of two counts of DUI homicide.

Delaware: Newark Police charge Kyle Loyd with DUI death of Amanda Hagelstein; fled scene but captured

Hagelstein and the acquaintance attempted to cross Delaware Avenue on foot. Upon seeing the approaching vehicle, the acquaintance stopped in the roadway. However, Hagelstein began to run across the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. Hagelstein, a resident of New Castle, Del., was transported to Christiana ER where she died from injuries sustained in the collision.
