Georgia: Charles Emerson Wilson gets 5 years in prison for DUI crash into police car

Last week, a Cobb jury found Charles Emerson Williams, 31, guilty of eight charges stemming from his actions in the early-morning hours of Feb. 11, 2014. On that morning, Mr. Williams, who was intoxicated, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado well above the speed limit and in the wrong direction on Austell Road.

California: Efrain didn’t refrain from boozing while cruising into curb; DUI and free room at the jail

According to Sgt. Adam Elders of the Coachella Police, on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 12:12 a.m., Coachella police officers responded to Leoco Ln. and Avenue 50 regarding a non-injury traffic collision.

Officers arrived and learned a Silver Kia Spectra sedan had collided with the curb of the roadway. No one was injured, but alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision.

Louisiana: Sheri McElveen killed toddler while driving drunk now convicted again of DWI

The Advocate reports that Sheri McElveen has been convicted of DWI a 2nd time in Baton Rouge stemming from an arrest in 2012.

You might remember McElveen from 2002 when she was convicted of running over and killing a toddler who was being pushed in a stroller on College Drive.

Virginia: Robert Alan Novotny charged with DUI-drugs for killing Frankie Dale Branch in head-on wreck

Police say the wreck happened around 8:15 p.m. near the Rolling Hills Drive intersection. Robert Alan Novotny crossed the yellow line and hit Branch head on, according to police

Oregon: Nickolas Hoffman liked to puff weed and drive on his roof; now DUI in jail

Sheriff’s Deputies found Mr. Hoffman was driving northbound on NW Bethany Boulevard and accelerated at a very high speed as he was turning left onto NW West Union Road. Investigators determined Mr. Hoffman lost control of the Blazer, ran onto the shoulder then rolled over in the roadway. He received minor injuries and was treated by medical personnel on the scene.

It was determined that Mr. Hoffman was under the influence of marijuana and driving recklessly at the time of the crash. He was arrested and charged with DUII. He was lodged in the Washington County Jail held on $2,500 bail.
