Methuen police reported that Eric Wayne, 41, of Lowell was headed west on Riverside Drive in a 2013 Land Rover at about 12:30 a.m. when it appears he crossed the center line and crashed into a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer near the intersection of Strathmore Road.

A Norton man accused of causing a deadly crash back in April is now facing more serious charges.

Nicholas Salvo, 23, was indicted on a charge of manslaughter by motor vehicle, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

Police said Salvo was speeding when he ran a red light and crashed into another car on Route 140 in Mansfield

On Sunday, May 11 at approximately 9:32PM, Mansfield Police and Fire responded to the intersection of Hope St. and Pratt St. for a reported motor vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. Witnesses called the station on 911 and reported a white box truck struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. Mansfield Fire, a short time later, reported seeing a white truck traveling the wrong way down North Main St. and officers responded to the area.

A Massachusetts State Trooper has been relieved of duty and is facing charges following an alleged OUI crash that left a passenger with serious injuries.

According to Massachusetts State Police, Trooper Dale Jenkins was off-duty around 1 a.m. Saturday when he crashed on Route 114 in North Andover.
