Louisiana: State Police lock up DWI driver Patrick W. Ruffner; boozing bozo drove drunk into police parking lot to report a hit and run crash!

At approximately 3:00 am on May 10, 2014, a Sergeant working the desk at Troop A received a phone call from Ruffner. Ruffner stated that he had recently been involved in a hit and run crash on I-10 near Siegen Ln. in Baton Rouge. The Sergeant advised Ruffner to come to the Troop and meet with Troopers in order to fill out a crash report. At approximately 3:45 am, a Trooper who had been called back to the Troop to handle the crash report observed a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer exiting the parking lot of the Troop. When the Trooper pulled into the parking lot, the Trailblazer followed him and the driver (later identified as Ruffner) stopped the vehicle near the front door of the Troop and approached the Trooper

Louisiana: State Police charge Dustin Richard McGowen for 3rd DWI in smashup with school bus; injured two kids and bus driver

Troopers at the scene suspected narcotic impairment and brought in a State Police Drug Recognition Expert who determined that McGowen was impaired. McGowen would not agree to submit a toxicology sample. A no refusal warrant was then obtained from a state district judge. Once issued, a no refusal warrant allows a law enforcement officer to bring an uncooperative driver to a qualified medical professional in order to obtain a toxicology sample without the driver’s consent.

Texas: Oklahoma Senator who sponsored bill toughening DWI laws busted for DWI on his last day in office

An Oklahoma State Senator was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated in Grayson County, Texas, late Thursday night.

According to the Howe Police Department, Oklahoma Sen. Harry Coates, (R – Seminole), was stopped on southbound US 75 near the town of Howe around 11 p.m. Thursday, after a driver reported the vehicle to be driving erratically.

Illinois: Bryan Dionte Vann charged with DUI murder in death of Albert Prater Jr.

Albert Prater was later pronounced dead at Cottage Hospital by the Knox County Coroner. The alleged driver of the vehicle (Bryan D. Vann), who had fled the crash scene, was located at 1581 McKnight and transported to Cottage Hospital where he was treated and released.
