CHP officials said Castaneda-Carranza is facing several charges including felony DUI causing death, vehicular homicide involving alcohol and murder, due to a prior DUI conviction.

The driver, Victor Rojas (age 23 of Coachella) was located walking a short distance from the collision scene. Rojas was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol/ and or drugs. Rojas was taken to a local area hospital for a precaution prior to being booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio.
