South Carolina: driver charged with DUI killed pal, injured EMT in crash with ambulance

(April 22, 2011) The attorney for a man accused of driving drunk in Sunday’s collision with an ambulance says it was a tragedy.
It left a 23-year-old Orangeburg man dead and his best friend facing charges.
“They’ve known each other since elementary school,” defense attorney Byron Gipson said. “As the family remarked in the courtroom, they had seen each other daily.”
