Jordon Scott Tilson DUI killer now charged with drug charges Oconee Sheriff’s Office and South Carolina State Patrol

03/20/2015 — Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 17-year-old male was charged with DUI in the crash that killed an 18-year-old Walhalla woman Saturday night (March 14, 2015) in the Westminster area.

Troopers said the wreck occurred on SC-11 at Critter Road about 8:20 p.m.

Lance Cpl. David Jones said that Jordan Tilson was driving a Chrysler Sebring that was involved in the single-vehicle crash.

The teen driver was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital via EMS and a rear passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to Greenville Memorial. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Coroner Karl Addis said a front-seat passenger died in the crash. Autumn Charissa Jordan of South Spring Street, Walhalla, was pronounced dead at the scene, Addis said. Jordan was wearing a seat belt.

A portion of SC-11 was blocked for several hours as the Highway Patrol and MAIT team investigated.  The highway had reopened Sunday morning.

On Monday, troopers announced that Tilson had been charged with one count of felony driving under the influence resulting in death and one count of felony driving under the influence involving death.

The crash remains under investigation, troopers said.  ….MORE

As of March 15, 158 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 153 highway deaths during the same time period in 2014.

Of the 117 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2015, 65 were not wearing seat belts.

Through midnight March 15, 23 pedestrians have died compared to 16 in 2014; 12 motorcyclists have died compared to 11 in 2014; and 1 bicyclist has died compared to 3 in 2014 on state roads and highways.
