South Dakota: Woman gets prison until she is 70 years old for killing man in crash; 3 x the legal limit and 3rd DUI

SIOUX FALLS, SD (July 21, 2011) – A Sioux Falls woman is going to prison for 60 years after driving drunk the wrong way down the interstate last summer, killing 27-year-old Michael Xayavong.
Twenty-nine-year-old Tammy Kvasnicka got onto Interstate-229 the wrong way last year after celebrating her birthday. Her night ended with a full-speed head-on collision that witnesses said sounded like ‘a back-hoe breaking up concrete.’
Kvasnicka’s blood alcohol level after the crash was 0.219, nearly three times the legal limit. It was her third DUI, and now she won’t be eligible for parole until she is nearly 70 years old.  ….MORE
