Anonymous woman’s gesture touches Sheriff’s deputies

MURFREESBORO, TENN.  10/08/2015 – A gesture of kindness by a stranger touched two Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday night at the Cracker Barrel on Chaffin Place.

Patrol Cpl. Mark Mack and Deputy Dana Harper were eating supper when a woman they didn’t know placed their bill she paid for on the table. Their bill read the words, “Because Police Lives Matter.”

“I appreciate what you do,” the woman told the deputies. “Thank you for what you do.”

When Cpl. Mack tried to find out who she was, the server and manager said she wished to remain anonymous.

“It meant a lot,” Cpl. Mack said. “Her gesture was greatly appreciated. She reminded me that I am privileged to serve a great community.”
