—Johnson City Police report that on Saturday, July 5^th, 2014, Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested 48 year-old Albert Charles Reitz, currently residing at 409 E. Fairview Ave. Apt B in Johnson City, on charges of Burglary, Motor Vehicle Theft, Driving Under the Influence, Possession of Burglary Tools and Driving Without a License.

The arrest was the result of a witness calling 911 and stating that a white male driving a Johnson City Transit bus pulled into the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy located at 840 W Market St, then exited the bus and gave him the bus keys stating that he just took the bus from Fairview Ave.

A male matching the witness’ description was located at the intersection of W. Market St. at the Hillcrest Dr. Intersection and he was identified as Mr. Reitz.  Mr. Reitz was then positively identified by the witness as the male exiting the bus and he appeared to be intoxicated.  The Johnson City Transit Director was contacted and confirmed that the bus was not supposed to be in operation on this date.  The Director stated that the bus was parked in the Johnson City Transit parking lot located at 316 E. Millard St.  Mr. Reitz was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $42,000 bond with an arraignment scheduled for Monday, July 7^th, 2014 at 1:30pm in the Washington County General Sessions Court.
