Texas: DWI arrest led to closing 30-year-old murder case; Benjamin Bewley will face trial for slaying of Melvin Lavine

DWI arrest by Abilene police in November also yielded the capture of a man suspected in the 1983 murder of a Fort Worth businessman, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Friday.
Benjamin Bewley, 48, of Tye, was booked into the Taylor County Jail on Nov. 17 on a charge of drunken driving. Authorities found a warrant for his arrest issued out of Tarrant County in connection with a 30-year-old murder, according to jail records.
