Morgantown Police Department reports that a motorist attempted to drive around an active fire department scene and in the process ran into a firefighter working at the incident. She was charged with DUI.

The Morgantown Police Department responded to Richwood Avenue on Nov. 19, 2015, at approximately 23:30 hours for a vehicle accident involving a Morgantown Fireman.

The Morgantown Fire Department was responding to an alarm call on Richwood Avenue near the intersection of East Prospect Street. The Fire Department arrived on scene and upon exiting the fire truck, a fireman was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle went left of center and was trying to pass the fire trucks when the accident occurred.

The fireman was transported to Ruby Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The name of the fireman will be released after notification to his family is made.

The driver of the vehicle, Yasmine Rosette Ghantous of Morgantown was charged with DUI with Injury in this accident. Ghantous was processed and taken to Mon County Detention Faculty awaiting arraignment.

Ghantous was admitted to the bar to practice law in West Virginia in 2013, according to the West Virginia Record. Apparently she spent some time at another bar before hitting the firefighter.

WBOY reports reveal that Morgantown Fire Chief Mark Caravasos said that the attorney dragged the firefighter 20-25 feet and ran over his leg before stopping.
