New York: Three NYPD officers busted for DWI in span of 27 hours

Three off-duty NYPD officers were busted for drunk driving in separate incidents during a span of 27 hours, authorities said.

Jeffrey Balzotti, 30, an NYPD sergeant, was pulled over Thursday morning at 2:30 a.m. in his 2007 Honda Civic on West 126th Street and charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, cops said.

The following morning at approximately 4:30 a.m., Police Officer Jose Vanderpool, 30, was also charged with DWI after he got in an accident on 32nd Avenue in the Jackson Heights section of Queens and refused a Breathalyzer, cops said.

A half-hour later, NYPD Sgt. Donald Stewart, 34, was also arrested and charged with DWI after he was pulled over near Fulton Street and Boyland Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, cops said.
