Birmingham, Alabama – 11/09/2015 — A Blount County assistant district attorney has resigned after she was arrested for her involvement in a DUI crash with injuries.

Birmingham police arrested Lindsay Nadeau early Saturday morning. Birmingham City Jail records show she was booked into the jail after the 1 a.m. crash, and released later that day.

Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey said Nadeau immediately resigned from her job. “As the Blount County District Attorney, I take very seriously my responsibility to promote public safety by prosecuting those individuals who commit crimes in our community,” Casey said. “My employees understand that, like myself, they are public servants and that the public’s expectations are much higher for us given the work that we do.”

The crash happened about 1 a.m. Saturday. Birmingham police said an officer on patrol drove up on a wrecked vehicle at Oporto Madrid Boulevard South and Cooper Hill Road. Nadeau, said Sgt. Bryan Shelton, was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that had struck a utility pole. Two passenger were already outside of the vehicle, but another male was in the vehicle and unresponsive.  ....MORE
