Alaska: Man killed in booze cruise on stolen snow mobile

Deering, Alaska — A man who was traveling at a high rate of speed on a snow machine on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 at 9:59 am left a roadway and crashed into a mobile camp trailer. Police report that the snow machine and both the driver and passenger on the machine ended up inside the trailer.  The driver, Craig Jones, 30, of Deering, was pronounced dead on the scene while Carla Moto, 22, also of Deering was flown to Anchorage for treatment.  Police say that the snow machine was stolen and “…alcohol is a major factor in this case and helmets were not worn”.
