ALASKA: State Troopers report DUI arrests for Feb. 29, 2020

The following persons were reported to be arrested by Alaska State Troopers:

On 2/28/20 at approximately 1346 hours, Soldotna Alaska State Troopers received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Nikishka Beach Road and the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. Investigation revealed the driver at fault in the collision, Philip Hobson (age 66 of Nikiski), was found to be impaired. A check of Hobson’s driving status showed he only possessed an Alaska ID card. Hobson was arrested and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility on the charge of Driving Under the Influence and No Valid Operator’s License– bail was set at $1,000.

On 02/29/2020 at approximately 0001 hours, Glennallen Alaska State Troopers responded to the area near 114.5 Richardson Hwy. for a motor vehicle accident. AST investigation revealed Samantha Mae White, age 28 of Glennallen, was driving a silver Ford Explorer south on the Richardson Hwy. when she lost control and crashed. Further investigation revealed Samantha was driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Samantha was placed under arrest for DUI transported to Glennallen post where she was held until sober.

On 2/29/2020 at approximately 0809 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance in progress in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Dylan Mcree, 26, of Wasilla allegedly assaulted his girlfriend after running out of gas in his vehicle. Dylan was arrested and charged with Assault in the fourth degree. Another person involved in the incident was arrested for having an outstanding warrant of $250 for VCOR for the original charge of DUI. Both individuals were transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial. Dylan was held without bail. 

On 02/26/20 at 2226 hours, AST responded to a residence in Big Lake for the report of a disturbance. During the investigation, AST contacted Jessica Rambeau, 33 of Big Lake. Rambeau was on conditions of release from a previous domestic violence-related arrest with conditions not to consume alcohol. Rambeau was found to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested for the original charge of Violating Conditions of Release. Rambeau was transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where she was remanded into custody and held without bail.

On 2/25/20 at 1801 hours, Troopers responded to a REDDI report near mile 153 of the Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. An investigation led to the arrest of Robert White, 27 of Anchor Point, after it was determined he was DUI and violating his conditions of release. White was found to be on conditions of release from a previous DUI. White was transported and remanded into the Homer Jail where his bail was set at $250.

On 02/26/2020 at approximately 1256 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a possible disturbance at Sheep Mountain Lodge near mile 114 of the Glenn Hwy. Upon arrival, Troopers contacted Genessa Tanner age 35 of Anchorage. After Tanner left the lodge with her 12-year-old son in the vehicle, Tanner began to drive recklessly and Troopers initiated a traffic pursuit with the vehicle.

Police say that the pursuit lasted from approximately mile 87 Glenn Hwy until mile 80 Glenn Hwy after the decision to terminate the pursuit due to safety concerns. Tanner continued to drive recklessly into Palmer despite not being pursued and was called in as a REDDI by numerous citizens. AST and Palmer Police Department observed Tanner turn on the to Old Glenn Hwy while speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road. Tanner crashed the vehicle into a ditch near mile 5 Old Glenn Hwy. Tanner was arrested for Eluding, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangerment DV and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail. No injuries were reported.

On 02.26.20 at 1841 hours, Alaska State Troopers, Bureau of Highway Patrol, arrested Darlene Whaley, 72, of Sutton, Alaska, for Driving Under the Influence. Whaley was operating her late 2000’s model station wagon traveling near mile 67 of the Glenn Highway when she went off the northbound side of the road and was stuck in the snowbank. The on-scene investigation determined Whaley was DUI, say police.

Whaley’s vehicle was released to a third party at her request. Whaley was transported and remanded to MatSu Pretrial in Palmer for DUI.

On 2/24/20, starting at approximately 2017 hours, Alaska State Troopers received three REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) complaints on a vehicle traveling on Chena Hot Springs Road.  AST responded to the area and located the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel.  The driver was identified as Seth Silva, 18, of Ft. Wainwright.  The investigation revealed Silva was driving under the influence of alcohol.  Silva was subsequently was placed under arrest for DUI and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Facility.  One of the passengers was identified as Bradley Linger, age 19, of Ft. Wainwright.  Linger was issued a citation for minor consuming alcohol.  Linger and another passenger of the REDDI vehicle (27-year-old male) was transported to Ft. Wainwright. 

On 02/25/20 at 1437 hours the Alaska Bureau of Highway Patrol (BHP) responded to a report of a DUI driver in Wasilla. BHP arrived on the scene and located the driver Stacy Michael, 46, of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Stacy was impaired from alcohol. Stacy was arrested for DUI and transported to Matsu Pretrial.  

On 2-23-2020 at 2131 hours, the Soldotna Alaska State Trooper K-9 Team responded to a report of a vehicle that drove into the ditch near the intersection of K-Beach and West Poppy in Soldotna. Upon arrival, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Willow L. King, 39, of Soldotna. Investigation revealed King was driving under the influence. King was arrested for DUI and transported to Soldotna AST for Datamaster processing. King was transported to Wildwood Pretrial where she was remanded on charges of DUI.
